Business Owner

INITIAL TELEPHONE FREE

Initial contact can be via email or telephone. This is an opportunity to discuss your concerns regarding your child’s communication and determine the appropriate next steps and whether assessment / therapy is appropriate. This one-off contact is free of charge for the first 20 minutes.

Teacher and Young Student

INITIAL ASSESSMENT £225-550

Every child or young person requires an assessment before therapy begins, unless otherwise agreed.

Assessment is tailored to the individual child and may take place in clinic, at home, within nursery or school, or another agreed setting.

The cost of assessment varies depending on the complexity of the child’s communication profile, the amount of formal assessment required, liaison with other professionals and the level of reporting needed.

Assessment may include:

  • parent/carer interview and developmental history;

  • review of previous reports;

  • informal assessment through play, conversation and observation;

  • formal speech, language and communication assessment where appropriate;

  • verbal feedback;

  • a written summary report with recommendations.

Some children require more comprehensive assessment involving extended formal assessment, more than one appointment, school/nursery observation, professional liaison or detailed analysis and reporting.

Following the initial consultation, a personalised quotation will always be provided before the assessment is booked.

Where a comprehensive report is required, for example to support an EHCP needs assessment or specialist referral, this will be discussed and quoted separately.

Child In Speech Therapy

THERAPY £60 / 80

45-minute clinic session – £60
60-minute clinic session – £80

The frequency and duration of therapy will be discussed and agreed following assessment and reviewed according to the child or young person’s progress and needs.

The session fee includes:

  • therapy planning;

  • direct work with the child or young person;

  • discussion/liaison during the session;

  • clinical note writing.

Therapy can take place in clinic, at home, within nursery or school or online where clinically appropriate.

Where travel is required, sessions will be a minimum of 60 minutes.

Additional Professional Services

Additional work outside an agreed assessment or therapy package is charged at the current hourly rate and will always be discussed and agreed in advance.

This may include:

  • therapy programmes;

  • resources;

  • Communication Passports;

  • AAC set-up and support;

  • staff training;

  • attendance at meetings;

  • professional liaison;

  • written advice;

  • consultation;

  • supervision;

  • additional report writing.

Travel

There is no travel charge for the first 5 miles from the clinic base.

Where travel is required beyond this, travel time is charged at £35 per hour together with mileage at 47p per mile.

Any significant travel costs will be discussed before an appointment is confirmed.

Further Information

Fees are reviewed annually and clients are given notice of any changes.
